Scholarship Application (Due MAY 9, 2021)

Through donations from GALA-ND/SMC members and friends, GALA-ND/SMC generously provides TWO $2,500 scholarships annually to TWO students in the LGBTQ+ community. The scholarship assists the recipients by reducing the financial costs incurred while pursuing their education.

How Do I Apply?

  • Be a current student at ND or SMC AND plan to enroll next year.
  • Identify within the LGBTQ+ Community
  • Be willing to  share your experience as scholarship recipient.   
  • Be proud to be publicly recognized as a recipient
  • Answer 4 simple essay questions
  • Get 2 letters of recommendation from a professional reference
  • Complete the essays & 2 letters of recommendation by May 9, 2021
  • Finalists will be notified for phone interviews in May.  
  • Winners will awarded during Pride month (June) 2021

All Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s undergraduate students are welcome to apply!  Special consideration will be given to undergraduate students who demonstrate leadership within the LGBTQ+ community,  have overcome marginalization, have financial need, and/or seek to strengthen support systems for LGBTQ+ students in the ND/SMC communities.
